This journey that we are on has presented us with some pretty cool situations. By cool, I mean that I wouldn’t have guessed that I would be having this conversation or do this today – type of thing. Last week I had a conversation with Eldon Morehouse about the Middle East while he made me one of the strongest Americanos (espresso and water) that I’ve ever had – it was really good – the Americano and the conversation. (Eldon is a retired pastor from Agape here in Muncie.)
Sarah and I shared a very intimate meeting with our pastor, Guy Pfanz (www.munciealliance.org). We shared our ministry with him. It was a chance to let him see where our hearts are and how God is working miracles in our own hearts. But, unexpectedly, we had a chance to see where he was and what issues he was facing. We ended up praying for one another and came away with a better understanding of how it is good to be obedient to God’s will but it isn’t always comfortable. It was wonderful to connect in that way with the man who is appointed our teacher.
Then, last night I had a conversation with my Dad. This was kinda cool too. We were giving him an update of what was going on and it turned into a great conversation of the work that God was doing in him and me. How cool is it to talk about the Holy Spirit with your Dad! We were both so excited to be talking about following His will for our lives.
I’ve been convinced that God will honor His promise to provide for us. I know this will happen. What is really the coolest is that when He does provide, it often is not in the way I would have expected. Yet, our needs continue to be met…and it is so much more fulfilling this way.
“I know the plans I have for you, ” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord . . .
How cool is that?
